The main focus of our research is the development of environmental friendly, biodegradable and renewable polymer (nano)composites for high volume, low load and low cost applications. We focus our research on the utilisation of nanocellulose derived from bacteria (Acetobacter xylinum) to enhance either the fibre-matrix interface. In addition to this, we also devote ourselves to finding new applications of utilising nanocellulose for polymer composites, such as the production of robust natural fibre preforms.
