Cellulose Extraction from Biomass

Animal feed comprises a high content of cellulose fibres which are only partly converted into energy. Hence, metabolism end-products, i.e. animal manure, particularly of ruminants, still contain a good share of cellulose fibrils, which have already been pre-processed. Thus, cellulose nanofibrils can be extracted from ruminant manure with very little energy input.
